Thanks for coming out to share what was one of the warmest Harrigan’s 5k runs ever!

The race received it’s first-ever challenge to the race results … at the awards ceremony, the Female 40-44 age group awards were presented as follow: 1st place was taken by Jeanette Puskas; 2nd place was taken by Paula Parker; 3rd place was taken by Vicki Rager Colon.
After the race, the second place finisher challenged the results (which were based on the gun start rather than a chip start, as has been the case historically).
When the chip times were reviewed, the previously declared second place finisher, Paula Parker, clearly ran the faster pace.
We are delighted to announce two 2015 first-place winners in the Female 40-44 age group, Jeanette Puskas based on the gun start and Paula Parker based on chip time. Sincerest congratulations to both of these excellent runners.
Future Harrigan’s 5k races will use the gun start for determining overall results and chip start/finish times for determining age group winners. That change might herald the end of Harrigan’s 5k timing disputes, but of course only time will tell.
