Over the years several participants have done the event in wheel chairs and crank chairs.
Fabulous!
Crank chairs are commonly very fast … they are spotted at the front of the field, given a 2 minute head start for safety, and are assigned a bicycle escort because visibility from a chair is not too good.
Wheel chairs are often not so fast. Wheel chairs are welcome to start at the front if they wish, or anywhere else.
If you are participating in a chair, PLEASE notify us be e-mail using info@harrigans5k in advance so we can prepare the appropriate support. If we don’t know you are coming, we won’t know to arrange a bike escort for you.
